Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
