Yet the latest Battlefield is aiming to change that.
Here comes the most recent addition in a established warfare game series often positioned as a more authentic answer to its main competitor.
The franchise has seldom succeeded to match its most famous competitor in aspects of sales or players, but there are signs the latest version could close the gap.

We have communicated to several the developers to find out how they aim it will pay off.
Creation Crew and Developer Cooperation
A total of four studios are creating the game under the collaborative banner.
This includes veteran creator Dice, based in Scandinavia, California's Motive developers and Ripple Effect Studios in the Great White North.
Another, Criterion, is located in England.
The general manager is the executive of the two European teams, and tells us that, in terms of what it's offering gamers, "this new game is arguably unsurpassed."
Responding To Earlier Shortcomings
This title arrives after the heels of the sci-fi the previous game, launched in the past to a poor reception it had difficulty to bounce back from.
"It's likely that we would not be able to build and design this new game lacking the lessons we had in Battlefield 2042," Rebecka explains to our team.
One of those insights was to engage the community involved soon, and the studio started exclusive player trials in recent months.

Another omitted element from the last game was a story mode, which has been brought back for this release.
The Guildford team creative lead Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the person tasked with "ensuring those missions are as fun and engaging as feasible for the players."
In spite of allegations that the scope of the title had put a strain on the multiple developers partnering globally to build the project, the director is positive about the process.
"Working with different perspectives, distinct heritages, it's a really interesting setting to be engaged with every day," he says.
"The complete approach has been a fresh take but also truly thrilling because we are partnering with team members from all over the world."
Concerning the anticipation on the developers, he states: "We feel pressure but additionally it's thrilling.
"It's a major undertaking. It's probably the biggest that many of us have previously been involved in."
Emerging Artist Adds Fresh Insight
